Memory Size Exhausted Error When Integrate WooCommerce and WPML

Posted on date Nov-23-2016 · by author  · comments Leave a Comment

We integrarte woocommerce with WPML to build a woocommerce multilingual store for a client, when we activated plugins, I found wordpress saying “Allowed memory size of xxxxxxxxxx bytes exhausted”, after a check I found the hosting setting insufficient memory for php is only 40M.

To solve this kind of problem is very easy, just open wp-config.php, add code:

define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '128M' );

to increase the Memory Limit to 128 MB, please note, this code line must before the wp-settings.php inclusion:

require_once(ABSPATH . ‘wp-settings.php’);

Another method is create a “php.ini” file in the folder where your wordpress isntalled, and in the php.ini file, add the code line:

require_once(ABSPATH . ‘wp-settings.php’);

Maybe you need send a ticket to your hosting for ensure you can customize the setting in php.ini.

A more easier method is add a command in your .htaccess file, it like this:

php_value memory_limit 128M

By this method your site’s memory limit will be increased to 128M too.

If you tried all of these methods, but still have this problem,  it means your host does not allow for increasing the PHP memory limit,  you need contact your hosting support to request they increase the member limit for you.

Best Regards,

Tomas
